Large Line Capacity Definition

The financial ability of an insurer to assume a significant exposure under a single underlying or excess insurance policy. The insurer's capacity is predicated on the aggregation of losses among each policy and the amount that each one covers. Reinsurance is recommended for exposures above the large line capacity.
